hi, i actually saw a picture of someonr in a teal fudgee bear costume in a different tribe and i fell in love with the costume. I have been keeping my eyes out for a good teddy bear/ animal costume pattern, and i have yet to find one that compares to these! anyways... is there any way of getting this pattern so i can make my own? I would happily dance my paws through black rock city in it for years to come!

Dear Fudgee Bears I'm writing to all a yall for a quick round up.

The time has come for our fudgeeness to spread all over this town
which so desperatly needs something fudgee to occur randomly, spuraticaly and without warning.
Any fudgee ideas in which we can pass on the good vibes and be fudgiliscous at the same time are most definatly encouraged.

I have an 8 year old I am taking to burning man and I am would like to know if anyone who is bring their kids wants to trade babysitting?

I can watch your child like a full day and you watch mine or we can do half days. I am taking my child to the trampolines, Roller Disco, An art class and cologue making, snuggle dome and to the heebee jeebee healers to get some Reiki and a massage, I can take yours along to these activities. I bring a back pack full of water and a snacks, apples, crackers and cheese. Foods: Granola, Juices, Fruits and Veggies, pickels, Cheese and crackers, soup and breads.

Please mail me if you are interested in meeting up at burning man or before.

I thought I'd share this story with the Fudgees...

I wore my white w/ pink tips bear to an outdoor party a few months ago. I was the warmest person there. tee hee! There was group of young 19 year old boys...I think this may have been their first outdoor event ever. They were the kind we all had to keep an eye on but they were still sweet in a goofy sort of way.

I was standing by the fire talking about what my bear name should be. One of them looked over at me, his eyes wide and said, completely serious i might add, "You should be magical fruity bear!"

It was so silly, I loved it!

THEME CAMPs: GET YOUR GREETER ON....TOGETHER

To all Theme Camps: In previous years theme camps have really made
Greeting a true representation of our city. We encourage camps to bring
their sounds and craziness to the Greeters' station and do a shift
together! Remember that the purpose is to be of service to those
arriving home but also to have as much fun as can be had and still
fulfill our mission as Greeters.

This announcement is an alert to get your requests for a shift in NOW!!!
For those camps that have enjoyed greeting in the past and for those
camps that are new to greeting, NOW is the time to check with your
campmates and let us know that your camp is interested in greeting.

We invite you to submit your camps request for a 4 hour shift that you
and your campmates would like to greet. Remember shifts start at 12, 4
and 8. A normal shift is for 20 greeters.

This year we would like an estimate of how many greeters your camp will
be able to provide for the shift. If your camp is very large and could
fill more than one shift let us know and we might be able to find a
second shift for them. If your camp is smaller and could not fill the
full 20 slots, that is not a problem as we will fill the remainder with
individual volunteers.

Greeter trainings

*Los Angeles Greeter training : July 15th Topless Deb will be hosting an
LA Greeter training\newbie info\general celebration\bonfire Saturday
July 15th from 4:00PM till 10:00PM at Dockweiller State Beach. The
entrance to Dockweiller SB is located off the end of West Imperial
Highway, west of LAX. Once past the gate continue down the ramp...find a
parking spot and then locate the purple greeter flag. Parking costs $5.
Sorry, no discounts for wearing playa gear. The beach and parking lot
officially close at 10 p.m. There is street parking on PCH and foot
access to the beach, but legal parking ends at 10p.m. Alcoholic
beverages are prohibited on this State Beach. Please bring Firewood.

*San Francisco Greeter training - July 22nd We will be hosting a
Greeter training in San Francisco from 2PM-4PM at the Burningman office.
Come learn the inside scoop about what it takes to be a Greeter. The
Greeter council will be on hand to answer any questions and role-play
greeting scenarios.

In the aftermath of our mission to educate people about the media at Burning Man, members of the Black Rock City Community Collective felt that they could a better job of reporting on the event. So they did.

Broken fur makes me GRRR!

last nights rehearsal w/ Desiree for the art show at Abundant Sugar was a lot of fun... for those of you who are coming to the event but couldn't make that rehearsal.. remember these mantras (or repeate after me):

"Broken fur makes me GRRR!!!"

"We don't need yo stinkin furr!"

"Broken fur maked me GRRR!!"

"Bow-wow, quack quack, tweet tweet, purrr!!!"

FYI- for this particular show, the Fudgee bears are protesting the decontsruction and recreating mutated stuffed animals....

There's choreography when the music comes in... and if you don't know it... it's best to just run around and repeat whatever everyone else is doing (other than some formation changes every so often...we're following exactly what is being said in the lyrics of the song)... here are a few samples...

"grab yer belly and point to the sky... hee hee ho ho har har hi!"

"raise your elbows in the air!"

"a heel and a toe and a heel and a toe and a heel and a toe and a slide slide slide"

.. I finished my Fudgee Bear suit.. yay.. but now I'm stuck.. too much fur in the zippper.. hmmm.. seems I'm having troubles getting stuck in costumes, lately...

Anyway.. I'm all ready for this weekend's fun.. well.. OK.. I still need a name.. but basically I"m ready..

Fudgee Bears on Ice?

i dreamt that i attended a performance of lucent dossier. i was sitting in the audience, it was an auditorium, and i was asked by one of the performers to participate. i was led to a sidestage where i was able to choose my costume. i got to pick from an assorted costume rack of hanging fudgee bear costumes. i picked an ivory colored costume that suited me and i went up on stage to dance and sing.
i woke up laughing!
i love the fudgee bears!!!

Calling all Fudgee Bears, have we got a party for you!

Lions and Tigers and Fudgee Bears? Oh My!

It's our be-LOVE-ed Bomb's birthday bash and we've got an action packed fun-filled celebration planned. That's right folks, it’s "WILD LIFE" with DaBomb and friends! This is a costumed event so let your Fudgee Bear Flag Fly, and let's visit the LA Zoo! After that, we'll board an authentic Double Decker Bus for a magical mystery tour of Los Angeles sights. Your presence, but no presents, is greatly desired!!!

Snacks, pie and drinks (both alcoholic and non) will be served on the bus as our own super star dj "Fat Finger" will serve up juicy phatbeats playa-style to keep us dancing high above the boulevard below.

Our adventure will begin at 10:00 a.m. next to the entrance to the Los Angeles Zoo and it's here that your baby bears are warmly welcomed to party-cipate!!! We'll enter the zoo en masse using a group discount by 10:30 a.m., so if you're late, meet us inside!

After the zoo, we'll be boarding the bus promptly at 1:30 p.m. Be sure to bring your digital cameras 'cause we're gonna have a digital camera scavenger hunt as we traipse around the sights of Hollywood and Los Angeles. By 6:00 p.m. the bus we'll take us back to the zoo, but it ain't over yet! If you're just getting started on the fun factor and the night's still young, then by all means, join us at the Big Foot Lodge immediately after we disembark. BUT IT JUST DOESN'T STOP FOLKS!!! For the second consecutive year The Janice Denise Thomas Foundation is collecting new "Teddy Bears" to distribute to
cancer patients at Martin Luther King Hospital. Our goal is to collect 200 teddy bears this year. Could you please donate a teddy bear and pass this along to all of your associates.

Introduce yourselves!

With over 50 bears in our clan, I know but a pawful of Fudgee Bears. So, go on and introduce yourselves and be sure to include your bear name. It might help in the creative process to know what each individual bear's creative interests or specialties?

By default, I'll go first:

I'm Super Sugar Bear (or Brown Sugar Bear, depending on who you talk to). When I'm not a bear, they call me DaBomb. Bomb will do. Rhymes with "Mom". I have a lot of maternal energy to disperse, which I do through my profession as a massage therapist and an instructor. I love what I do, but I'm ready for some sort of life change. Don't know what that looks like yet, so I try to be patient with the process as the new chapter in my life unfolds.

More about me: I am the bombniscient and bombnipresent Bearie Queene, prone to grant wishes. I'm into: Burning Man, love, rockets and other incendiary devices, folk lore and faerie glamour, travel, art, architecture, music, films, animation, theater, dance, photography, writing, spoken word, technology and computers, VW buses and other assorted pleasures.

Sun Bear was founder and Medicine Chief of the Bear Tribe Medicine Society. Of Ojibwa descent, he was born in 1929 on the White Earth Reservation in Minnesota. At an early age, he began having visions that portended his development as a medicine teacher.
